Childcare by Kristin Located in Horseheads, NY
About Me
I was born and raised in a suburban town outside of Philadelphia. Six years ago, I moved to the Finger Lakes region and recently relocated to Horseheads, NY. I graduated college with a B.S. in Elementary and Special Education. I also earned a Master's degree in education with a Reading Specialist certification. I taught elementary school in PA and NY for 13 years. Recently, I decided to take time off from teaching to spend with my three children!

About the Program
I am looking to bring my love for caring for children, passion for learning, and expertise in education into my home. In August 2022, I became a registered daycare provider. I completed training, provided documentation, renewed my CPR/First Aid certificate, had my house inspected, worked with staff through OCFS, and had fingerprints/clearances completed.
I am looking to provide high quality care. Under my supervision, your child will be cared for and loved like they are my own. They will be respected, engaged in activities, and in a welcoming environment. My passion is to teach skills, all while having fun! I believe that children learn best through experience, active play, peers, and positive role-models.
The curriculum will follow research based practices that align with developmentally appropriate objectives. The first hour will be small group learning focusing on academic learning. The second hour will be structured play focusing on social, emotional, and behavioral skills.
